Detroit Lakes — Several streets in downtown Detroit Lakes will be temporarily closed Monday evening, December 1st, to accommodate the annual Parade of Lights celebration.
City officials announced that Washington Avenue from Frazee Street to Front Street will be closed to traffic from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. as spectators and parade units line the route.
In addition to the main closure, several intersections will also be blocked during the event:

Front Street & Washington Avenue
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternative routes, and allow extra travel time.
The city advises drivers to watch for detour signs and increased pedestrian traffic as families gather for one of Detroit Lakes’ most popular holiday traditions.
