Timberwolves Seek Third Straight NBA Cup Win Against Suns Tonight

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves will look to remain perfect in NBA Cup group play when they take on the Phoenix Suns tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM.

The Wolves enter the contest riding high with a 2-0 record in the Emirates NBA Cup’s West Group A play and a solid 10-5 overall mark. Minnesota has won eight of its last 10 games and is coming off a convincing 120-109 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

The Timberwolves currently sit sixth in the Western Conference standings and have been one of the league’s most balanced teams, averaging 120.6 points per game while ranking eighth in scoring and eighth in defense. Anthony Edwards continues to lead the way for Minnesota, averaging 25.2 points per game.

Phoenix (9-6) enters the matchup seventh in the West and has also been hot in November, winning all but two of their games this month. The Suns are also undefeated in NBA Cup play and will be looking to protect their home court. Devin Booker has been Phoenix’s standout performer, leading the team with 27.8 points and 6.9 assists per game.

Both teams will be dealing with injury concerns. For Minnesota, Jaden McDaniels (wrist) is listed as a game-time decision, while Terrance Shannon Jr. is out with a foot injury. The Suns will be without Grayson Allen (quadriceps) and Jalen Green (hamstring).
