Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Lakers girls hockey team dropped their second game of the season Tuesday night, falling 6–4 to the River Lakes Stars.
Sophomore forward Aurora Jabas led the Lakers offense with a hat trick, while Hadley Songstad contributed the team’s fourth goal. Despite the offensive effort, Detroit Lakes couldn’t overcome the Stars’ attack.
Goaltender Paityn Solberg kept the Lakers in the game with a strong performance between the pipes, turning aside more than 30 shots.
The loss drops Detroit Lakes to 1–2 on the young season. The Lakers will look to get back in the win column Thursday when they travel to face Brainerd.
