Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Gophers will attempt to pull off a major upset tonight when they take on the eighth-ranked Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium in a Big Ten conference matchup.

Minnesota enters the contest with momentum after a thrilling 23-20 overtime victory over Michigan State on November 1st. The Gophers enjoyed a bye week to prepare for tonight’s challenge against one of the nation’s top teams.

Head coach P.J. Fleck’s squad sits in a tie for sixth place in the Big Ten standings with a 4-2 conference record and 6-3 overall mark. While Oregon enters as the heavy favorite, the Gophers can take confidence from their historical success against the Ducks – Minnesota hasn’t lost to Oregon since 1999.

The game presents a significant opportunity for the Gophers to boost their postseason resume with a statement win on the road against a ranked opponent. Meanwhile, Oregon will look to protect its home field and maintain its position in the College Football Playoff conversation.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
