Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Golden Gophers’ suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday night, falling 83-60 to the Missouri Tigers at Mizzou Arena.
Minnesota entered the contest with a 2-0 record but struggled to contain Missouri’s offensive surge after halftime. The Tigers put together a devastating 25-2 run in the second half that turned a competitive game into a rout, and the Gophers never recovered.
Senior forward Cade Tyson led Minnesota’s scoring effort with 17 points, but it wasn’t nearly enough to overcome the Tigers’ dominant performance.
With the loss, Minnesota drops to 2-1 on the season as they prepare to return home. The Gophers will look to bounce back quickly when they host Green Bay on Saturday at Williams Arena.
