Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild earned a hard-fought point but ultimately came up short in a 2-1 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night at Grand Casino Arena.
The Sharks secured the victory just 2:36 into the extra period, denying the Wild a chance to extend their point streak at home.
Matt Boldy provided the lone offensive highlight for Minnesota, finding the back of the net in regulation. Despite the goal, the Wild struggled to generate sustained offensive pressure against the Sharks.
The overtime loss moves Minnesota to 7-7-4 on the season with 18 points, keeping them in the thick of the Central Division race. The Wild will look to bounce back when they return to action Saturday night, hosting the Anaheim Ducks at Grand Casino Arena.
