Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds football team has advanced to the Minnesota Class A State Semifinals in 2025.
The Thunderbirds defeated the Upsala/Swanville Patriots 17-8 on Friday.
They will face the Minneota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday, November 15, at 9:00 a.m.
Before combining the two programs, Waubun’s nine-man team and Mahnmen’s football team combined to win nine state titles. Since they merged in 2018, they’ve won one championship.
