Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild broke out of their recent slump in emphatic fashion Saturday night, defeating the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 at Grand Casino Arena to snap a five-game losing streak.

After a closely contested first two periods, the Wild exploded for three goals in the third period to put the game away and earn their first victory since late October.

Vladimir Tarasenko, Marco Rossi, Vinnie Hinostroza, Jonas Brodin, and Ryan Hartman each scored for Minnesota in the winning effort. The five-goal outburst marked the Wild’s highest-scoring performance during their recent stretch of struggles.

With the win, Minnesota improves its record and climbs to 11 points on the season, though they remain in seventh place in the competitive Central Division.

Minnesota returns to action quickly, hosting the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.
