Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves overcame an early scare to defeat the Indiana Pacers 114-110 at Target Center, improving their record to 2-1 on the young season.
The victory came with a significant concern, however, as star guard Anthony Edwards exited the game after just three minutes with a hamstring injury. The severity of the injury was not immediately disclosed.
Julius Randle stepped up in Edwards’ absence, delivering a commanding performance with a team-high 31 points and six assists to lead Minnesota to its second win of the season.
The Timberwolves will look to build on the momentum when they host the Denver Nuggets tonight at Target Center. The status of Edwards for that matchup remains uncertain as the team awaits further evaluation of his hamstring.
