Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Anthony Edwards announced his arrival in emphatic fashion Wednesday night, pouring in 41 points to lift the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 118-114 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Timberwolves’ star guard saved his best for last, delivering when it mattered most in the game’s closing moments. With the score tied and just over a minute remaining in regulation, Edwards drained a go-ahead three-pointer that put Minnesota ahead for good. He then sealed the victory with a clutch jumper in the final ten seconds, silencing the Portland crowd and cementing the win.

Julius Randle provided valuable support, contributing 19 points to the winning effort. The veteran forward’s presence gave Minnesota a reliable secondary scoring option throughout the night.

The victory improves Minnesota’s record to 1-0 on the young season. The Timberwolves will look to build on this momentum when they travel to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Friday night.
