Wild Extend Losing Streak with OT Loss to Flyers

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM)- The Minnesota Wild’s struggles continued Saturday night as they fell 2-1 in overtime to the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center, extending their losing streak to three games.

Noah Cates played hero for the home team, burying the game-winner just 2:37 into the extra period to give Philadelphia the victory. The loss leaves Minnesota searching for answers as they sit at the bottom of the Central Division standings with just five points.

Vladimir Tarasenko provided the lone bright spot for the Wild, finding the back of the net in regulation. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome a stingy Flyers defense and goaltending performance.

The Wild will look to snap their skid when they travel to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Rangers.

Trade News

In a move to shake things up, Minnesota made a roster change over the weekend, trading defenseman Kyle Masters to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Oskar Olausson.
