Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Vikings suffered a disappointing 28-22 loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium, falling to the bottom of the NFC North standings.
The Purple struggled to contain Philadelphia’s offense down the stretch, surrendering a crucial touchdown that gave the Eagles a two-possession advantage with just six-and-a-half minutes remaining in regulation. Minnesota’s defense couldn’t come up with a stop on the Eagles’ final possession, sealing their fate in front of the home crowd.
Quarterback Carson Wentz had a rough outing against his former team, throwing a pick-six that proved costly in the loss. Despite finishing with 313 passing yards, Wentz was intercepted twice as the Vikings’ offense couldn’t overcome their defensive lapses.
The defeat drops Minnesota to 3-3 on the season, leaving them at the cellar of the division as they head into a quick turnaround. The Vikings will look to bounce back Thursday night when they host the Los Angeles Chargers in a primetime matchup.
