Minnesota Wild Set to Open Season Against Blues in St. Louis

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild will kick off their season Thursday night with a road matchup against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

The Wild enter the new campaign looking to build on a track record of playoff consistency while seeking to break through a lingering postseason barrier. Minnesota has qualified for the playoffs in five of the past six seasons.

However, that regular-season success has yet to translate into deep playoff runs. The Wild haven’t advanced past the first round since 2015, when they defeated the Blues in the opening round before falling to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Thursday’s season opener in St. Louis will provide the first glimpse of whether this year’s squad has what it takes to overcome that playoff hurdle finally.
