Battle Lake, MN – The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office searched for and found a missing watercraft operator on Otter Tail Lake this weekend.
Deputies say that around 5 p.m. Saturday, the Minnesota DNR informed them that there was a missing person on Otter Tail Lake. A 44-year-old North Dakota man reported that he and his 41-year-old brother were each on hydrofoils, and he could not find him.
Deputies coordinated an extensive air and water search, and within an hour, the missing man was found safe, uninjured, and on-shore. The man told deputies that his hydrofoil had mechanical issues, but he was able to make it to shore safely.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota DNR, Battle Lake Rescue, Battle Lake Fire Department, and LifeLink 3.
