Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins got their series against the Texas Rangers off to a strong start last night, defeating Texas 4-1 at Globe Life Field in Arlington.

Ryan Jeffers provided the key hit for Minnesota, driving in the go-ahead run with a single during a pivotal two-run third inning that put the Twins ahead for good.

On the mound, Zebby Matthews delivered an outstanding performance for the Twins, going seven strong innings while allowing just one run on four hits to earn his fifth victory of the season. Matthews kept the Rangers’ offense in check throughout his outing.

The victory extends Minnesota’s winning streak to two games as they continue their road trip through Texas.

Looking ahead to tonight’s matchup, Taj Bradley will take the mound for the Twins as they try to build on yesterday’s momentum and take a commanding 2-0 series lead against the Rangers.

First pitch is scheduled for tonight at Globe Life Field as these two teams continue their series.
