Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Simeon Woods Richardson delivered a masterful performance on the mound Monday night, leading the Minnesota Twins to a commanding 7-0 victory over the New York Yankees at Target Field.

The right-hander was nearly untouchable, striking out 11 batters while allowing just two hits across six scoreless innings to earn his seventh win of the season. Woods Richardson’s dominant outing effectively silenced one of baseball’s most potent offenses.

The Twins provided plenty of offensive support, with Austin Martin leading the charge by driving in four runs. Brooks Lee contributed significantly as well, launching a home run and adding two RBIs to help build the comfortable margin of victory.

The comprehensive win improved Minnesota’s record to 66-84.

The series continues Tuesday night, with the Twins sending Zebby Matthews to the mound to face the Yankees in the second game of the set. First pitch for Tuesday’s contest is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. at Target Field.
