Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat to the Chicago White Sox at Target Field on Wednesday night, surrendering a two-run lead in the top of the ninth inning.

The Twins appeared to be cruising toward victory with a 3-1 advantage entering the final frame, but reliever Justin Topa imploded when it mattered most. Topa allowed three runs in the ninth inning, turning what seemed like a comfortable win into a devastating loss.

Despite the disappointing finish, the Twins received a strong offensive performance from shortstop Royce Lewis, who collected three hits and drove in one run.

The loss drops the Twins to 62-77 on the season, keeping them mired in fourth place in the division. With the season winding down, Minnesota will look to bounce back when they face the White Sox again tonight, with right-hander Taj Bradley taking the mound for the Twins.
