Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins suffered a lopsided 12-3 defeat to the Chicago White Sox at Target Field, with the visiting team launching four home runs in the blowout victory.
Despite the loss, the Twins managed to put runs on the board through Trevor Larnach, Mickey Gasper, and Ryan Fitzgerald, who each drove in a run during the contest. However, their efforts weren’t enough to overcome Chicago’s offensive explosion.
Relief pitcher Thomas Hatch was saddled with his first loss of the season after struggling to contain the White Sox offense. The defeat keeps Minnesota firmly planted in fourth place in the American League Central division with a record of 62-76, as its playoff hopes continue to fade with each passing game.
The Twins will look to bounce back tonight when they send right-hander Zebby Matthews to the mound against the White Sox in the series finale at Target Field.
