Governor Tim Walz has ordered all U.S. and Minnesota flags to fly at half-staff at all state buildings, immediately, in honor of the lives lost today at Annunciation Catholic School in south Minneapolis. A shooter fired into the school while children were holding mass marking the first week of school. Two children were killed and 17 others were injured.
Fourteen of the injured were children. Governor Walz said, “Minnesota is heartbroken by the senseless shooting that took place this morning. I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence.”
The governor encourages Minnesotans, businesses and organizations to lower their flags as well.
