Twins’ Struggles Continue as Blue Jays Roll 10-4; Wallner Belts Two Homers in Defeat

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins’ difficult season continued Monday night with a 10-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, as starting pitcher Joe Ryan endured another tough outing.

Ryan was tagged with his seventh loss of the season after surrendering six runs over five innings, including four runs in a disastrous bottom of the first inning that put the Twins in an early hole they couldn’t escape.

Despite the lopsided defeat, outfielder Matt Wallner provided a bright spot for Minnesota, launching two home runs in the losing effort. However, his power display wasn’t nearly enough to overcome the early deficit and Toronto’s continued offensive pressure throughout the game.

The loss drops the Twins to 59-72 on the season, leaving them in fourth place in the AL Central division. With their playoff hopes all but extinguished, Minnesota will look to salvage some pride in the remainder of the series.

Bailey Ober will take the mound for the Twins tonight as they attempt to bounce back against Toronto. First pitch is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. at Rogers Centre.
