Barnesville, MN – On Friday morning (August 8th), the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Barnesville Police Department arrested a murder suspect from Saint Louis, Missouri in rural Barnesville.
Barnesville police officers were called to a report of a vehicle that was stalled on State Highway 34 outside of Barnesville at around 9:30 a.m. The witness told police that there was a man, later identified as 46-year-old James Emery Minor III, attempting to change the tire on the car and he was acting suspicious. A Clay County deputy responded along with Barnesville police.
They located Minor and the vehicle at 19633 Highway 34 South. After talking to Minor, and checking the registration on the vehicle, it was learned he was wanted out of Saint Louis for murder, which was confirmed by the Saint Louis Police Department Homicide Division.
Minor was taken into custody without incident. The deputy transported Minor to the Clay County Correctional Facility where he is being held pending extradition to Saint Louis. The vehicle was transported to the Clay County Law Enforcement Center where it is also being held for Saint Louis.
Clay County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are assisting the Saint Louis Police Department Homicide Division with this investigation.
