(Frazee, MN) — The man shot by police at a rest stop in Frazee after a pursuit through Becker and Otter Tail counties is hospitalized in stable condition.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Todd Burris of Bemidji broke into a home near Detroit Lakes, assaulted someone, and stole a gun Wednesday night. Burris led authorities on a chase and eventually stopped in Frazee where he was shot by an officer during a confrontation.

He’s expected to be jailed on aggravated assault charges when he’s released from the hospital. The Minnesota B-C-A is investigating the shooting.
