WADENA, Minn. — Astera Health will officially open its new cancer center with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, at the Astera Health Main Campus. The event will take place in front of the Cancer Center entrance, weather permitting. In the case of rain, the ceremony will move inside to the center’s lobby.
The program will begin at noon with remarks from Astera Health CEO Joel Beiswenger, CentraCare CEO Ken Holmen, and Astera Health Board of Directors member Paul Drange. A representative from M.A. Mortenson Company, the project’s builder, will also speak.
At 12:20 p.m., the official ribbon cutting and photo opportunity will take place, followed by an open house and guided tours of the new facility from 12:25 to 1:30 p.m. Light appetizers and beverages will be served.
The new cancer center is a significant addition to Astera Health’s services, aimed at enhancing local access to cancer care and treatment.
Attendees are encouraged to plan ahead due to ongoing highway construction in Wadena. Highway 10 will be closed for three weeks starting July 8. Visitors traveling from the east should take 2nd Street to Greenwood Avenue to reach the hospital parking lot. Those coming from the west can access the hospital via a detour off Highway 10.
