New York Mills, MN – A New York Mills man is in custody for selling drugs to a confidential informant in a controlled buy.
Otter Tail County prosecutors say that on August 7th, 2024, the Minnesota West Central Drug and Violent Crime Task Force received information from an informant that they could purchase a controlled substance from 57-year-old Jeffery Robert Kampsula.
Task Force agents met with the informant and provided the cash to purchase 28 grams of methamphetamine and a wireless recording device for agents to listen in on the controlled buy. After the informant left Kampsula’s home, they provided the agents with two baggies of a white, crystalline substance that tested positive for meth. When tested, the baggies weighed about 26.5 grams.
A warrant for Kampsula’s arrest was issued on Tuesday, June 17th, and he was taken into custody. He made his first court appearance on Wednesday and is charged with 1st degree sale of a controlled substance.
