Midwest Bank partners with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to award $1,000,000 to 11 organizations through the Member Impact Fund

Midwest Bank partnered with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to award $1,000,000 to 11 area organizations through the Member Impact Fund. Midwest Bank, in partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, recently announced that This matching grant program will result in FHLB Des Moines awarding $20 million in funding to support affordable housing and community development in Minnesota.   

 “The Member Impact Fund continues to be a powerful resource in supporting our members as they expand access to affordable housing and drive community development,” says Kris Williams, president and CEO of FHLB Des Moines. “It’s inspiring to see the partnerships centered around improving local communities in such a variety of ways.”   

 Recipient organizations were selected based on the needs for grant funding to support capacity-building or working capital necessary to strengthen their ability to serve affordable housing or community development needs including job training, affordable housing, financial literacy, food banks and youth programs 

 The Member Impact Fund provides FHLB members up to $3 for every $1 in matching grant donations.

$20,000 CornerStone Community Youth & Family Resource Center  

$20,000 Marshmallow Animal Shelter  

$70,000 Patriot Assistance Dogs  

$120,000 Minnesota Flyers Gymnastics & Fitness  

$120,000 Project 412  

$180,000 Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center  

$200,000 Washington Baseball Park  

$200,000 Becker County Historical Society  

$20,000 Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity  

$20,000 Parkers Prairie Pickleball Project through West Central Initiative Fund  

$1,000,000 Total Donation
