Street Faire at the Lakes celebrates its 25 year this weekend in Detroit Lakes. (May 30-31) The two-day event in downtown Detroit Lakes runs Friday from 10 to 7, and Saturday from 10 to 5.
There will be over 100 artists and vendors, live music, plus your favorite festival foods.
The art at the Street Faire is some of the best in the area. Mary Beth Gilsdorf talks about how the artist are chosen; “It’s a juried show which not everyone knows what goes on behind the scenes, but, every artist that’s there has to submit images of their work and their booth set-up, and they get juried in. We do scoring, we don’t know who it is, and we all score it and the ones that get a high score get in. And then they have to be invited back, so it’s a it’s a prestigious thing.”
