Perham, MN – A Perham man has been charged with possessing child pornography.
41-year-old Zachary Michael Nash has been accused of being in possession of multiple files containing depictions of underage girls in a sexually explicit manner.
According to court documents, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Youth in December 2022 saying that the organization flagged multiple images downloaded by a phone under Nash’s name containing child porn.
Prosecutors say that in May of 2023, a search warrant was executed at Nash’s residence. Across multiple devices in the home, 17 files met the criteria for child porn.
Detectives say that when they spoke with Nash during the search and told him about the tips they received, he admitted to knowing there was underage content on his phone. He said he received files of adult sexual content that had the juvenile content mixed in and he did not delete the illegal content.
Now, two years later, Nash has been charged and made his first court appearance on Monday, May 12th.
