Fergus Falls, MN (KBRF) – A woman has been charged for damaging the cars of both her ex-boyfriend and his new date.

20-year-old Myah Connie Jean Watkins of Pelican Rapids is charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor. According to Fergus Falls Police, two reports of damaged vehicles came in around the same time mid-February.

The first victim said that she believed Watkins was responsible because she had recently told Watkins that she had started dating a man, and Watkins was upset because she had also been dating him. Court documents say that man lived with the second victim and often drove the victim’s car. Police spoke with Watkins’ ex, who said that he had dated both girls, but he had broken up with Watkins before starting the second relationship, which he said was also short lived.

Police spoke with Watkins, who said that she and a 17-year-old friend were driving around on February 16th in the early morning when they decided to use Watkins’ knife and damage the two vehicles. She said that her ex-boyfriend had recently started dating another girl, whom she believed he cheated on her with.

Watkins told the officers that they found out where the first victim lived, and the 17-year-old slashed the victim’s tires while Watkins waited in her vehicle. They then drove to the second victim’s house, where Watkins says she went into the garage, slashed the tires and the front seats of the car, and scratched the body and hood.

Court documents say the damages to the second victim’s car exceed $1,000 in repairs, and the first victim spent over $900 to replace her tires.

Watkins made her first court appearance on Tuesday.
