At Monday night’s school board meeting, Detroit Lakes Public Schools, Superintendent Mark Jenson, announced High School Principal Joshua, Omang was stepping down.
“Josh Omang at the high school has accepted a position with the BARR organization, (Building Assets Reducing Risks) it’s a program he’s kind of been pretty passionate about getting going at the high school. It looks at reducing absenteeism, building grades, you know Student Success, and he has done an amazing job. They love him, and they recruited him, and he has accepted their offers.”
Omang began his role on July 1, 2021, replacing Darren Wolf.
Superintendent Jenson said the search for a new High School Principal is already underway,” So we were we go full bore starting today, posting for the position, looking for candidates. So, we’ll start that search process, probably have it open for a few weeks and hopefully get somebody in here before June.”
Omang previously served as the High School’s Academy Coordinator and head football coach for six years.
