Otter Tail County, MN (KDLM) – The first round of grant recipients for the Opioid Settlement Fund has been announced by Otter Tail County.
Through the Otter Tail County Opioid Settlement Funds Advisory Council and the County Board of Commissioners, $400,000 in funding has been awarded to support treatment, recovery, and prevention efforts.
Launched in July 2024, the first round of the Request for Applications (RFA) enabled eligible organizations to apply for up to $50,000 per year over a two-year period. After a rigorous review process, five organizations have been selected to receive funding, with projects kicking off on January 1st, 2025, and continuing through December 31st, 2026.
Nicole Hansen, Otter Tail County Administrator, emphasized the county’s commitment to addressing the opioid crisis: “This funding is a critical step in supporting local organizations that are on the front lines of addiction recovery and prevention. On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we are committed to investing in programs that will create lasting positive change in Otter Tail County.”
Round One Grant Recipients:
- The Bridge Center – Providing a safe space for young people to engage and grow in Pelican Rapids.
- Perham 180 – Supporting individuals on their journey to recovery through structured programming and services.
- Lake Region Halfway Home – Offering transitional housing and resources for individuals in recovery.
- Otter Tail County Probation – Implementing intervention programs that reduce recidivism and promote rehabilitation.
- Community & Life Services – Providing essential support services for individuals and families affected by opioid addiction.
