MnDOT Announces 2025 Road Construction Projects in West Central Minnesota

Apr 4, 2025 | 5:03 AM

As the spring construction season kicks off, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is reminding drivers to slow down and stay alert in work zones. While nearly 180 projects are planned statewide, several will impact travel in and around Becker County and neighboring areas.
Key regional projects include:
• Expanding Highway 10 through Wadena to four lanes, including resurfacing on Highways 29 and 71.
• Resurfacing eastbound I-94 from Rothsay to Fergus Falls, a corridor often used by Becker County travelers.
• Construction of two underpasses in Moorhead on 11th Street under the BNSF rail lines continues into year two of a three-year project.
• Highway 371 through Hackensack will be reconstructed to three lanes, with the addition of a roundabout at Cass County Road 5.
MnDOT urges drivers to be extra cautious in work zones this season, as projects ramp up across the state. “We’re all safer when we pay close attention, slow down, remain patient, and work together to safely share the limited space in a work zone,” said MnDOT Commissioner Nancy Daubenberger.
