Child Injured After Truck Slides Off Icy Highway 10 Near Detroit Lakes

Winter weather played a role in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning just west of Detroit Lakes.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 43-year-old Jennifer Moline of Brainerd was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram westbound on Highway 10 around 9 a.m., when she lost control on a snowy and icy stretch of road. The vehicle slid off the right side, went down an embankment, and rolled, eventually landing on the driver’s side.
While Moline was not injured, her 8-year-old daughter, Nevaeh Moline, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes for treatment. Both were wearing seatbelts, and airbags deployed during the crash.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office, Detroit Lakes Fire Department, and St. Mary’s EMS assisted on the scene. Troopers say alcohol was not involved, and road conditions were listed as snow and ice-covered at the time.
This is the latest reminder that early April snow can still make roads dangerous, especially on curves and embankments. Authorities urge drivers to slow down and allow extra space when traveling in wintery conditions.
