Autopsy Ordered After Moorhead Man Pulled from Red River

The death of a 63-year-old Moorhead man found in the Red River last week is still under investigation, and authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
According to the Moorhead Police Department, officers responded to a missing person report just after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, near the 4300 block of South River Haven Road. Emergency crews located the man in the river, unresponsive.
He was pulled from the water by the Moorhead Fire Department and transported to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, where he was later pronounced dead.
The man’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of his family. His body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination.
Moorhead Police say the circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear, but added that there is no threat to public safety.
