Moorhead Man Dies After Being Pulled from Red River

A 63-year-old man has died after being pulled unresponsive from the Red River in south Moorhead on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Moorhead Police Department, officers responded to a missing person report just after 4:30 p.m. near the 4300 block of South River Haven Road. First responders located the man in the river and removed him with the help of the Moorhead Fire Department.
He was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, where he was later pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts.
The man’s identity has not yet been released, but police say he was a resident of Moorhead. The circumstances leading up to the incident are still under investigation, though authorities say there is no threat to public safety.
