A Hubbard County woman has been arrested after a hit-and-run crash Friday morning, leading to a DUI charge.
The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash at County Road 9 and US Highway 71 around 10:30 a.m. on March 14. A 56-year-old man told deputies he was stopped at a sign when a southbound vehicle attempted to turn onto County Road 9 and hit his car.
The female driver briefly stopped, admitted she had no license or insurance, wrote down her name and address, then left the scene. Deputies later found her vehicle in a driveway, where she was found sleeping inside.
Authorities identified the suspect as 34-year-old Victoria Whitefeather. She admitted to coming from the liquor store and failed a field sobriety test. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of .10. A search of her vehicle uncovered an open bottle of vodka, marijuana, Gabapentin pills, and a folded bill inside a plastic bag.
Whitefeather has a prior history of 1st-degree DUI and a Criminal Vehicular Homicide conviction from 2013, when she caused a crash that killed a motorcyclist.
Charges in this case are pending.
