Sen. Fischbach Pushes for Rural Healthcare, Investment, and Education Initiatives

Minnesota Sen. Michelle Fischbach is making rural healthcare and infrastructure a top priority, pushing back against a federal mandate she says could force rural nursing homes to close. Fischbach has introduced the Protecting America’s Seniors Access to Care Act to block the mandate and instead focus on nursing staff recruitment and retention.
She’s also working to expand rural healthcare training opportunities through the Rebuilding America’s Health Care Schools Act, which would allow nursing and allied health students to train in rural hospitals.
On the investment front, Fischbach is backing the Investing in Rural America Act, a bill aimed at helping hospitals, senior care centers, and nonprofits secure funding through federal grants and local lenders.
She’s also pushing for Medicare to cover new multi-cancer early detection screenings and wants to increase telemedicine funding to $82 million a year, with a portion dedicated to fighting the fentanyl epidemic.
Fischbach says she’s committed to helping rural Minnesota thrive by improving access to healthcare, investing in infrastructure, and strengthening communities.
