A 66-year-old Erhard man is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening to shoot patrons at a bar near Star Lake late last Thursday night.
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call from Bell’s Resort Bar and Grill just before midnight on February 13. Witnesses reported that Scott Leabo was causing a disturbance, possibly armed with a pistol, and threatening to shoot other customers.
Before deputies arrived, Leabo allegedly broke the bar’s front door before staff secured it with an electrical cord.
When officers arrived, they found Leabo sitting in his car and placed him under arrest. Witnesses said the trouble started when Leabo got into a heated exchange while playing pool, pushed another customer, and threatened a person with a pool cue. Bar staff say he left but returned aggressively, breaking the door lock, and shouting that he would get his pistol and shoot patrons.
When questioned by deputies, Leabo denied having a firearm. He was showing clear signs of intoxication and registered a 0.351 BAC on a breath test—more than four times the legal limit.
Leabo was taken to Lake Region Healthcare before being transferred to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility.
He appeared in court on February 18 and is now charged with Threats of Violence, two counts of 3rd Degree DWI, 5th Degree Assault, 4th Degree Damage to Property, and Disorderly Conduct.
