Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach has reintroduced the Investing in Rural America Act, a bill aimed at boosting capital investment in rural communities by improving access to funding for hospitals, childcare centers, and senior care facilities.
The bill seeks to:
• Restore farm credit institutions’ eligibility to finance essential rural facilities.
• Require partnerships between farm credit institutions and other lenders.
• Increase oversight, with a report to Congress on lending partnerships and projects.
“Rural communities are struggling to retain and attract future generations,” Fischbach said. “This bill will make it easier for private investors to support key community facilities and strengthen rural America.”
Calling for Federal Oversight in Minnesota
Fischbach, along with Representatives Brad Finstad and Pete Stauber, has also called on President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi to swiftly appoint a U.S. Attorney for Minnesota following allegations of fraud in the state government under Governor Tim Walz.
“Minnesotans have lost faith in state oversight,” Fischbach said. “We need federal accountability to ensure taxpayer dollars are being spent responsibly.”
This follows a Minnesota House Republican Caucus request for a federal investigation into alleged fraud at the state level.
Supporting Biofuels & Rural Energy Policy
Fischbach also joined nearly 30 lawmakers in urging the EPA to support biofuels and the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS).
“Biofuels are key to lowering fuel costs and reducing reliance on foreign oil,” the lawmakers wrote in a letter to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.
The letter highlights the economic benefits of homegrown fuels, including job creation, farm economy support, and price stability at the gas pump.
