DNR Highlights Outdoor Classes and Conservation Efforts in Upcoming Webinars

By Trish Johnson Feb 4, 2025 | 6:24 AM

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is offering a series of free, interactive webinars aimed at promoting outdoor skills and wildlife education.
This Wednesday, Feb. 5, Luke Adam and students from Nashwauk-Keewatin High School will discuss how they’ve successfully introduced fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities into their school curriculum. They’ll share insights on starting similar programs and the impact these outdoor experiences are having on students.
The following week, on Feb. 12, DNR Conservation Partners Legacy Grant Program Coordinator David Stein will shine a spotlight on the American chestnut tree. A species that has been present in Minnesota for over 150 years, the American chestnut faces significant challenges. Stein will explore its history, ecology, and the ongoing restoration efforts to preserve this iconic tree for future generations.
The Minnesota Outdoor Skills and Stewardship Series offers these webinars year-round. Registration is required, and recordings of past sessions are available on the Minnesota DNR website.
