Advanced Crop Advisors Workshop Set for February in Fargo

By Trish Johnson Jan 30, 2025 | 6:39 AM

Crop consultants, ag retailers, and farmers looking to stay ahead of the latest trends in agriculture should mark their calendars for the 33rd annual Advanced Crop Advisors Workshop on February 11 and 12 at the Holiday Inn in Fargo, ND. The event, hosted by University of Minnesota and North Dakota State University Extension, offers nine continuing education units (CEUs) for those attending both days.
“This year’s workshop features a lineup of industry and Extension crop production specialists who will team-teach interactive sessions covering weed control, disease management, and alternative crop production,” said Angie Peltier, UMN Extension crops educator and workshop co-chair.
Topics include grass weed management in wheat, tar spot in corn, and best practices for growing canola and dry edible beans—crops that are gaining interest as farmers seek ways to improve profitability.
New this year, the workshop will feature a self-paced pest ID quiz and contest, where attendees can test their knowledge of weeds, insect pests, and plant diseases during meal breaks. Prizes will be awarded to those who correctly identify the most specimens.
