A 19-year-old man from Crow Wing County was arrested on January 23rd after causing a disturbance at Lake Region Hospital and making threats of violence, including announcing plans to commit a mass murder.
According to court documents, police responded to reports of disorderly behavior in the hospital’s emergency room. The suspect, Logan Anthony Seitz, had been transferred from Northstar Behavioral Hospital the day prior. During a phone call with his case manager, Seitz became upset, smashed a hospital-owned phone valued at $1,300, and caused a disruption.
Seitz allegedly told his case manager he planned to kill them by slitting their throat and expressed intentions of becoming a mass murderer on his birthday, January 25th. The case manager also reported Seitz had claimed to steal knives from a Dollar Tree and planned to “go out in a blaze of glory.”
Seitz was arrested and has been charged with:
• Felony Threats of Violence
• Felony Criminal Damage to Property
• Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct
He is currently in custody at the Otter Tail County Detention Facility and made his first court appearance on Friday.
