Three Fergus Falls residents, including two former employees, have been arrested in connection with a December 18th robbery at the Casey’s gas station on East Vernon Avenue.
According to court documents, the suspects—39-year-old Justin Michael Hanson, 42-year-old Jennifer Joyce Loomer, and 44-year-old Ryan Joseph McGuire—entered the gas station using a key and disabled the security system with a code. One suspect quickly unplugged security cameras, but remaining footage helped investigators identify a pickup truck tied to the suspects.
The trio stole approximately $5,000 in cash and over 30 cartons of cigarettes.
Search warrants uncovered several pieces of evidence linking the suspects to the crime, including:
• A blue face mask seen in security footage.
• Keys labeled “Casey’s Safe.”
• Unopened packs of stolen cigarettes.
• A text from McGuire to Loomer saying, “Jenny we should go rob cigs from Casey’s.”
McGuire later provided a confession, detailing the events of the robbery. Hanson and Loomer were both former employees of Casey’s who had been terminated prior to the incident.
The three suspects were arrested last week and made their first court appearance on Friday, January 17th. They each face charges of 2nd Degree Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property.
