DLHS PaY Hosts Winter Clothing Drive to Support Local Kids

By Trish Johnson Jan 13, 2025 | 6:44 AM

The Philanthropy and Youth (PaY) program at Detroit Lakes High School is once again stepping up to make a difference in the community. This winter, PaY students are hosting a clothing drive to collect essential items for local children in need.
Donations of new or gently used children’s joggers, mittens, gloves, earmuffs, hats, and sweatshirts can be dropped off at the Student Services Office from now until January 24.
The PaY program, an initiative that fosters leadership and community service among students, regularly engages in meaningful projects like this. From clothing drives to grantmaking for local nonprofits, PaY teaches students the value of giving back while making a tangible impact on the Detroit Lakes area.
This year’s drive emphasizes the need for warm clothing during Minnesota’s harsh winters, ensuring kids in the community can stay cozy and comfortable.
If you’d like to contribute or learn more about PaY and their initiatives, visit Detroit Lakes High School’s website or contact the school directly. Together, we can keep our community strong and connected.
