Dakar Ortiz, 30, was arrested in Alexandria following a months-long investigation into sex trafficking.
Ortiz was wanted in Minnesota for sex trafficking and providing false information to police. He also had felony warrants in California for robbery, terrorizing, and assault. Authorities learned Ortiz planned to stop in Alexandria on Friday, Jan. 3, and coordinated his arrest at a truck stop.
The West-Central Minnesota Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, Alexandria Police, Douglas County Deputies, and Douglas County SWAT worked together to arrest Ortiz without incident. He remains in custody at the Douglas County Jail.
This case highlights the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in addressing human trafficking and bringing individuals with outstanding warrants to justice.
