The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is looking to fill 200 paid summer internships, providing students a chance to explore careers in natural resources while benefiting communities across the state.
Interns will work in fields like fisheries, forestry, park operations, and watercraft inspections, contributing to DNR’s mission of managing natural resources and promoting outdoor recreation. The internships, which pay $19 per hour, provide hands-on training and require students to fulfill academic credit.
Here in the Lakes Area, we see firsthand how DNR interns enrich our community. From hosting educational events to maintaining our trails and waterways, these opportunities connect young people to the great outdoors while enhancing local conservation efforts. Projects like watercraft inspections protect our lakes, while forestry work ensures our beautiful woods remain healthy for generations to enjoy.
Applications are open through January 31, and internships will begin in May and June. For more information and to apply, visit the Minnesota Careers website at mn.gov/mmb/careers/.
