A Wadena man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to set fire to a camper during a domestic incident and fleeing from Otter Tail County deputies.

Sean Raymond Weber, 49, is facing several charges after an investigation into a December 4th incident. Deputies responded to reports that Weber had assaulted a victim and was preventing them from leaving a location. When law enforcement arrived, Weber was inside a vehicle, blocking the victim from escaping. Despite commands to stop, Weber fled the scene, leading authorities on a high-speed chase reaching up to 85 miles per hour.

The pursuit lasted about 6.5 miles until Weber’s vehicle went into a ditch after officers deployed stop sticks.

Upon investigation, deputies found burn marks on the bed of the residence, and the victim told authorities that Weber had threatened to burn the place down before attempting to set fire to the bed with a torch. Fortunately, the victim was able to put out the flames.

Weber now faces charges including two felony counts of Domestic Assault, one felony count of Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, and a misdemeanor charge of 5th Degree Arson. His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, December 30th.
