The Becker County Sheriff’s Office is proud to introduce its new K9 unit, a dedicated team tasked with enhancing law enforcement efforts across the county. The new K9, a Belgian Malinois named Max, will assist in drug detection, search and rescue operations, and help increase the effectiveness of routine patrols. Max and his handler, Deputy Derek Jensen, recently completed extensive training in narcotics detection and public safety.
Sheriff Tim Gordon expressed his excitement about the new addition, saying, “This K9 unit will be a valuable tool for our department. Max’s training allows us to respond more effectively to issues involving drugs, search and rescue operations, and public safety threats.”
Max is expected to start active duty immediately, and the Sheriff’s Office hopes this addition will be a key asset in addressing the county’s growing safety needs.
