A Red Lake woman, Jennifer Marie Stately, 35, has been charged with murder, arson, and child neglect following the deaths of two young children on the Red Lake Indian Reservation.
On March 15, 2024, Stately allegedly attacked two children with a sharp object and set their residence on fire. One child died from stab wounds, while the other succumbed to smoke inhalation. She then fled with a third child, prompting an AMBER Alert. Law enforcement later apprehended her, rescuing the neglected child.
Stately faces multiple charges, including premeditated murder and felony child neglect. She remains in custody pending further proceedings.
This case underscores the effectiveness of AMBER Alerts in swiftly disseminating critical information to aid in child rescues.
