Park Rapids Man Injured in Becker County Crash

A Park Rapids man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Osage Township.

William John Peterson, 90, was driving a 2016 Subaru Outback eastbound on Highway 34 when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a field approach, and came to rest in a nearby yard, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Airbags deployed in the crash reported at 2:38 PM near mile marker 70 on dry pavement. It is unknown whether Peterson was wearing a seat belt at the time. He was transported to Sanford Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including Becker County deputies, Park Rapids Police, the Minnesota DNR, Lake George Fire and Rescue, and Carsonville Rescue.
