Last weekend marked the start of the Minnesota State Patrol’s enhanced DWI enforcement campaign, and it was a busy one, with 276 arrests reported statewide.
Most arrests occurred Saturday and Sunday, though even Monday saw 17 drivers charged with DWI. In one troubling case, a driver in the St. Cloud region was arrested for DWI two nights in a row, including one incident where a woman was driving children home from a game.
These numbers serve as a sobering reminder to never drive under the influence. The enhanced enforcement campaign will continue through the New Year as troopers work to keep Minnesota roads safe this holiday season.
